Over the years we have tried many of the hotels, pubs and restaurants in the Isles of Scilly - there are many good ones to choose from. Please note that in high season some venues get busy and have relatively short service times. Therefore it can be wise to book, especially if you are visiting with a large party. We have listed in no particular order some of our favourite places. St Mary's Boatman's Association run evening supper boat trips to enable visitors to try off island dining options.
St Mary's
The Beach On Scilly - beach cafe and bistro restaurant right on Porthmellon beach. Excellent for coffees, lunch an evening meal or simply a drink sat on their terrace. Extremely child friendly with a good children's menu. For more information visit http://scillybeach.com/ or call 01720 419438.
On The Quay - Restaurant & Cafe as the name implies it is located on the St Mary's Quay, it has an industrial look with incredible views across the harbour. On the quay has the opportunity to cook your own steak "on the rocks" or the opportunity to share a huge fish or steak with a friend followed by some amazing, irresistable desserts. The Atlantic Inn - decent pub food in the centre of Hugh Town and is a St Austell's pub so has a good well kept range of their ales. Visit www.atlanticinnscilly.co.uk or call 01720 422323.
Mermaid Inn - another excellent pub right at the end of the quay in Hugh Town. Has a range of well kept ales as well as either food in the pub or the restaurant. Call 01720 422701 to book.
Tregarthen's Hotel - hotel overlooking the harbour - excellent for a coffee, afternoon tea a drink or a nice meal in their restaurant which overlooks the harbour. Pom's Thai Takeaway - takeaway van located at the Porthcressa Beach end of Silver Street serving excellent Thai food cooked while you wait. Ideally located next to the fish & chip van so those who don't like Thai food can have fish & chips instead! You can call 07453311273 to pre order.

Scilly Fish - fish & chips takeaway van located at the Porthcressa Beach end of Silver Street (next to Pom's Thai). Open during the main tourist season from 5 to 7:30 (closed Wednesday and Sunday evenings). More information can be found on their website http://scillyfish.weebly.com.
Dibble & Grub - is a Mediterranean style cafe/restaurant located on Porthcressa Beach. The restaurant opens mid morning for brunch accompanied by a wide range of drinks including juices, coffees and a wide range of alcoholic options. The lunch and dinner menus are wide ranging with a focus on tapas style dishes. Sit and watch the world go by or supervise children playing on the beach while you enjoy a coffee. Longstone Cafe - a pleasant walk from Hugh Town will take you to Longstone Cafe. An ideal place to stop for cake, lunch or afternoon tea. Hugh Street Cafe - just a few doors along from all our properties it is a great place to grab breakfast or some lunch with you to take out for the day. Tresco
The New Inn - excellent pub with a wide selection of ales and wines. Food at lunchtime and in the evening. Also sells ice creams in a cone or tub. Call 01720 423006 to book.
The Ruin Beach Cafe - located on the east side of Tresco right on the beach at Old Grimsby. Excellent range of drinks or food for lunch or evening meal. The outside terrance gets very busy on sunny summer's days. Call 01720 424849 to book a table.
Bryher
Fraggle Rock Cafe - excellent pub/cafe that is open all day most days for drinks or food. Food options are fairly limited on Bryher so it might be worth calling in advance to check opening times if you are relying on them being open. Call 01720 422222.
Hell Bay Hotel - winner of countless awards this hotel must be one of the best in the UK. However they also welcome non resident visitors for a drink or lunch and it is well worth it. More information can be found at http://www.hellbay.co.uk or call 01720 422947 if you want to book.
Island Fish - a family run fishing business based on Bryher. Most of their catch is sold to restaurants, hotels and cafes on the Islands. However they have a shop on Bryher which sells fresh fish and shell fish but also simple food such as lobster and crab rolls and salads. St Agnes
The Turks Head - you can't miss this pub right by the quay on St Agnes. They serve a wide range of drinks and good food. If you want a pasty for lunch it is worth pre ordering when you get off the boat from St Mary's before going and exploring the island.
